Two Christmas Finishes

My first FNSI is officially finished with the binding being sewed down this afternoon.

and my favourite part of the stitchery design is this ........

My other finish for today is this one

It is made from the same fabric range as my place mats

I have also finished two other projects for swaps but I can't show them to you just yet but one is a candle mat (the design and colors are a secret) and the other is a hand made item with a "summer" theme.
I would love to show you but I had better not just in case Fiona is in the area!  :o)
Just need to make something little with a Christmas theme to go with the Summer swap and then I'm ready to send it off.

Thank you for stopping by
and enjoy your creativity,
Sharon

SKoW - Started

I was super excited on Friday when my postie finally handed me the parcel I have been waiting for.

My bundle of "Strawberry Fields" - so much prettier in person. So I finally get to start

So I grabbed out my box, got organised

and then let my weekend become consumed by this project ...... and I am loving every moment.

This is my first attempt at Needle Turn Applique but I think I have found a method that is working for me.

Here is the first block

No cherries on the Cup Cakes yet, maybe when I get a little more confident at the smaller appliques pieces they will be added.

Block 2

and Block 3

All three

and then on my design wall so I can see how they will look when in the quilt :o)

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Don't forget my 100 post giveaway ....... ENTER HERE ....... drawn later tonight

A Friday Finish

Hexagon Quilt

I have to admit that I have neglected the laundry to get this one over the finish line but I am glade that I did as I am so pleased with how it has turned out and take two worked like a charm :o)

It is made from the "Sunkissed" Range by Moda then framed on white and then a border also from the Sunkissed Range and matching binding.  I personally love how the white frames the hexagons.
Backed with a soft pink spotted fabric that blends nicely with the Sunkissed pink and adds (I think) a more girly/feminine feel to the quilt.  First time around I was using a solid Grey.

All the hexagons have been hand pieced.

I have quilted "in the ditch" around all the flowers and then hand quilted the centres of the flowers.

I love photos of quilts rolled up.

Finished Size - 56" Square

With this finish there will be another beginning ............ With the help of my "Go Baby" I am going to make another!  This time a little smaller. The hexagons will only be 1" cut so about 3/4" finished.  I haven't started yet but I have ordered the hexagon papers :o)

I am off now to catch up in the Laundry so I can then go and get another project across this finish line.

Enjoy your creativity, what ever it may be.
Sharon.

Aiming towards some finishes

Lily's Picnic Quilt, Xmas Table Topper (matched my newly completed place mats), a Xmas swap project, my stitched Xmas Wreath and of course my Hexagon Quilt.

All basted and ready for some attention.

Some may remember that I have tried to quilt the hexagon one once before and it ended in a huge mess with me pulling it all apart so this time is "take two".  The plan is to machine quilt around the flowers and hand quilt the centres and when all that is done I will assess the situation and decide f I want the straight lines like Leanne has done on hers in Vignette.  Fingers crossed that it's "second time lucky" for this quilt top.

Summer warning for all.

I love living here in Australia but I HATE these ......

Can you see it? (Sorry I am looking away so that's a NO for me!)

Hubby was out doing the whipper snipping whilst my youngest son was mowing the lawn and he (my son) saw this not so little fella.  Eww .........

And on a brighter note, do you remember Ruby?

She is off on her long journey home to her new "Mum" today, all the way to France.
I love it when my babies head off overseas as it's like a little bit of me gets to travel the world.

Enjoy your day and happy stitching,
Sharon

Accountablilty Progess - A finish and MORE

I think that the turn in the weather back to the cooler days and chilly nights has inspired me to do a lot of stitching and sewing as I feel like I am churning things out at the moment, but the best bit, I am LOVING it!

I have just updated my Accountability chart on my side bar as I have a FINISH .... yay

At long last (I started these back in June) I give to you my Xmas Place mats

One way to freak out the Hubby ..... leave them set out on the table until he gets home from work and watch his face as it FINALLY starts to sink in that Christmas is not really that far away.

I got Block 5 of the Xmas Banner stitched whilst Lily was down for her afternoon nap.

Then postie came with a little something for me.  The October mailing from Pink Chalk Fabrics for their Monthly Solids Club.  I love this club, is it a great stash builder.

My plan of attack for tonight is my Vignette Mystery Quilt.  I have now pieced blocks 8 and 12 so I need to concentrate on getting block 4 to the finish line.

Everything is traced ready to go.

It should be a very relaxed night here as it's a Public Holiday tomorrow (Bendigo Cup) so no stress over kids going to bed early, homework etc so that Block 4 is well and truly set in my sights :o)

Enjoy your creativity,
Sharon
